New initiative to lead manufacturing firms through the marketing maze
North East manufacturers will be able to tap into a wealth of marketing expertise thanks to the launch of a new initiative.
The Advanced Manufacturing Forum (AMF), and its strategic marketing partner Newcastle-based Horizonworks, will launch the AMF Marketing Club on Thursday 6 October 2016.
The first of the quarterly events, ‘Navigating through the marketing maze – getting the basics right’ will provide essential tips for choosing the best marketing approach and provide insight into the importance of strategic marketing within the manufacturing industry.
The event will feature a range of guest speakers and marketing experts who will cover everything from strategy to funding to marketing for export.
Established by the private sector to offer a single voice on behalf of the manufacturing community, the AMF is now the largest manufacturing forum in the North East, engaging with members and the wider business community to exchange ideas and knowledge to create business growth and success opportunities within the manufacturing industry.
The launch of the AMF Marketing Club follows the success of their Finance Forum, and HR Forum which were launched in 2014.
Horizonworks, a full-service marketing agency focussing on strategy-led, results driven methods, was founded by Samantha Davidson in 2010. It specialises in business to business strategic marketing with a wide range of organisations including established businesses, memberships and networks, and start-ups and entrepreneurs and specialises in manufacturing and engineering, healthcare and life sciences, technology and innovation, professional services and the public sector.
Samantha Davidson, managing director at Horizonworks, will be presenting at the launch and said of the AMF Marketing Club: “We are delighted to be working with the Advanced Manufacturing Forum on this programme of events. We aim to help manufacturers in the region maximise the impact of their marketing spend and identify the best tactics to help their business stand out from competitors.
“Strategy-led marketing has never been so important for companies in the manufacturing sector. Marketing is the tool which allows companies to develop a powerful presence within their industry, whether they are launching a product into new markets, preparing for a trade show, or simply need to raise their profile.”
Also, speaking at the inaugural event will be Julie Skevington, director at Sincero, a business funding and growth solutions provider; Colin Simpson, business development director at pump distributor and manufacturer Tomlinson Hall and Gill Main, business development manager at marine and engineering company Tyne and Wear Marine.
Jack Hanwell, AMF manufacturing sector development manager, said: “At each event the AMF Marketing Club will cover new subjects such as digital media, branding and marketing for export, the aim of which is to continuously grow the capabilities and success of the North East’s manufacturing firms.
“We will utilise the experience and expertise of industry leads and draw from real industry examples to demonstrate the benefits of marketing within the manufacturing sector.”
The event, which is free to attend, will be held at The Quadrus Centre, Boldon Colliery 12-2pm Thursday 6 October 2016, and is open to all manufacturing companies in the North East.
