Wellness Walk & Litter Pick – S.Tyneside – The Red Bench Project, South Tyneside Pledge, AMF & Manosun
Come and join us for an afternoon at the beach!
To support and raise awareness of a new local charity THE RED BENCH PROJECT, local organisations have joined forces to carry out a wellness walk and beach clean at Sandhaven/Long Beach, South Shields. The event is open to anyone interested in supporting the local community, doing something good for our area, and getting to know fellow South Tyneside businesses and organisations.
The Red Bench Project – A brand-new project has been launched in South Shields to provide those struggling with their mental health a safe space to chat to others.
The new project which has been created and launched by 44-year-old Wayne Rambo Groves, is named The Red Bench Project and will involve red benches being placed in “hot-spots” around South Shields, where people can sit when they are feeling low, and even chat to others about their struggles.
The South Tyneside Pledge, which encourages businesses to spend in, recruit from, and support the Borough, is also helping to increase the links between the private and voluntary sectors, between businesses and young people and between companies themselves. It has also encouraged businesses to get more involved in the local community, consider the environment and health of their employees and think about how they can give something back to the communities they work in.
Advanced Manufacturing Forum – The AMF is a long-established membership organisation based in South Tyneside that brings together local manufacturing & engineering professionals to help forge strong, long-lasting relationships, encourage collaboration, and to share knowledge and best practices.
Manosun – a South Tyneside-based PPE, hand protection specialist. Passionate about supporting businesses, and individuals in South Tyneside.
Manosun has been looking for a way to help promote a range of Gloves that now contain recycled materials, the Manosun Basic range contain 36% recycled plastic that would normally be disposed of within landfill or worst case found within our waterways.
It has been difficult for Manosun as a new business to become established within the saturated market of Hand Protection and in any way we can promote such an important advancement in PPE manufacturing we couldn’t think of a better way then involving fellow members.
It was after mentioning to a fellow network group member about the thoughts of a Beach Litter-pick and how they offered to support our idea with a small funding donation. This started the cogs turning to think of an idea how we could make this idea bigger and better as well as help others; the likes of our decided recipient The Red Bench Project.
After speaking with our local networking groups The South Tyneside Pledge and the AMF it was agreed together we would pull resources together and promote this idea for us all to come together on the 14th August and for a couple of hours, in the sunshine, walk-talk and litter-pick cleaning our fabulous beach adjacent to the #1 Red Bench located on our coastline.
