December Monthly Meeting – The Future of the Automotive Sector

Date: 19/12/2018

Time: 12:00 – 2:00pm

Location: One Trinity Green, Eldon Street, South Shields, NE33 1SA

For our final meeting of the year we would like to invite you to come and hear about “The Future of the Automotive Sector”.

Our speakers will be (further to be added):

John McLellan-Grant – Regional Engagement Manager, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) is one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the UK. Its resources, reputation and unrivalled automotive data place it at the heart of the UK automotive industry.

SMMT is the voice of the UK motor industry, supporting and promoting its members’ interests, at home and abroad, to the government, stakeholders and the media.

SMMT represents more than 800 automotive companies in the UK, providing them with a forum to voice their views on issues affecting the sector, helping to guide strategies and build positive relationships with the government and regulatory authorities.

Paul Butler – CEO of the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA)

The North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) is an industry-led cluster group, established to support the economic sustainable growth and competitiveness of the sector in the North East of England.

Launched in March 2015, with over 300 cluster participants, the NEAA is the largest automotive cluster in the UK and one of the fastest growing clusters across Europe.

The NEAA provides a single unified voice to key stakeholder groups and promotes the true value created by the North East automotive sector.

Being so close to the Christmas break we encourage the wearing of novelty jumpers, ties, baubles, hats and tinsel! There will also be a Christmas slant to the buffet!

The event is open to members and non-members. We anticipate there to be a lot of interest in this event so registration will be on a “first come” basis and priority will be given to AMF members.
