Webinar

Diversification and Adapting Your Manufacturing by Tharsus

Date: Tuesday 29 September 2020

Time: 14:00 – 15:00

Join us for our next AMF webinar and hear from Ian Campbell, Head of Commercial for BUMP (Tharsus) on how, due to the COVID-19 crisis, the company developed and brought to production a device to aid its staff with social distancing measures. Ian will also explain how this is now a product for the market place and any company can keep its workforce safe using BUMP.

Tharsus is based in Blyth, Northumberland, the UK’s emerging powerhouse of advanced manufacturing. Employing almost 400 colleagues, Tharsus was named UK National Chambers of Commerce ‘Employer of the Year’.

About Bump

Bump by Tharsus is a Personal Motion System, designed to help people understand the way they move around a workplace, and when they interact with other wearers.

As COVID’s grip tightened, Tharsus realised protecting the global economy would be critical to overcoming the crisis. The key would be getting people back to work.

In just 12 weeks it went from initial idea to market, with a social distancing system which could be quickly and widely deployed to support its business and thousands of others, in bringing people back to work safely.

Bump is now commercially available, and initial signs show it has scope to get over one million people back to work.

For its work on Bump, Tharsus won a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering President’s Special Award for Pandemic Service.

Agenda:
