Date: Tuesday, 24 March 2020
Time: 09:30 – 12:00
Venue: Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2BH
AMF “Know-How” events deliver knowledge on topics, specific to manufacturing.
INCOTERMS – What are they? What do they mean?
The new Incoterms® rules came into force on January 1st 2020. There are 11 rules which describe the obligations, risks and costs involved in the delivery of goods from sellers to buyers. They are the internationally accepted standard for business to business practice in sale of goods contracts.
During this event, Jacqui Tulip will give a brief overview of the revised rules, focusing in particular on a couple of the rules that will cause problems for global traders when the expected transition period comes to an end on 31st December 2020 and the UK is no longer trading as though it was still part of the EU. She will also talk about the preparations you should be making now as globally trading businesses to ensure that you are ready for the changes to customs formalities that will occur on 1st January 2021.
Jacqui is an experienced international trade adviser, having worked for the North East England Chamber of Commerce for almost 14 years before moving on to set up her own International Trade Consultancy. Before that she worked in international trade finance for 20 years at Lloyds Bank Plc in Newcastle upon Tyne.’
We will also hear from Lockton UK on how you make sure you have the correct risk mitigation in place to deal with any changes that may cause a risk to your business, now and in the future, and Barclays on trade support and protection against payment risks you need to be aware of.
