TEN NORTH EAST TO LAUNCH JOB CLUB

A division of AMF member Groundwork South and North Tyneside, TEN North East Ltd has been awarded a £5,000 grant by the Santander Foundation.

South Tyneside based employment and training services provider, TEN North East will use the funding to run a new year long Job Club which aims to support and inspire disadvantaged people living in South Tyneside in finding employment. This includes those with addictions, mental health issues, debt problems, low confidence, people with no qualifications and those at risk of becoming homeless.

Due to launch on Friday 7 June 2019, the Job Club will run once a week at South Shields Business Works and is aimed at those who don’t meet the criteria for TEN North East’s existing programmes for example, 16 to 17 years olds and over 25s. A team of employment advisers will be on hand to offer professional support and career guidance from helping with job searches and writing CVs to completing application forms and preparing for interviews.

Stirling Hood, young adult services co-ordinator at TEN North East, said “We are delighted to have been awarded this funding by the Santander Foundation. At TEN North East we are passionate about making a difference and supporting those who are unemployed back into employment and helping them to build a better future. TEN North East is a fantastic example of an organisation that makes a difference, the team work very closely with young people to give them the confidence, skills and support they need in finding employment.

“I’m delighted to present this cheque for £5,000 to Stirling and his team and I’m sure the Job Club will be a great success and I look forward to working together in the future.”
