FUNKY CHUNKY FURNITURE SALES REACH RECORD LEVELS IN RUN UP TO CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS sales at Funky Chunky Furniture were the strongest ever as the Jarrow-based furniture manufacturer and online retailer continues its rapid growth.
Sales rose by 31% in December and 17% in November compared with the same trading period in the previous year.
The sales increase marks a conscious shift in market focus for Funky Chunky Furniture as it continues to expand its furniture product range.
Kevin Johnston, managing director, said: “We forecast a strong festive period, but the figures surpassed even our expectations.
“Since rebranding in September last year our focus has been on growing the furniture side of the business. Our signature rustic design has proved popular with consumers, as has our commitment to exceptional customer service and quality craftsmanship.
“The record sales are due to the increase in furniture sales, and the larger average online basket price. We saw significant growth across all our furniture, but it was the larger products such as beds and dining tables that sold particularly well.
“We’ve set ourselves ambitious growth targets for the coming year, which include expanding our team and our product range even further, and have exciting plans for the coming months.”
