ELRO® MODELS NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH PUMP SCRAPPAGE SCHEME

AMF member Tomlinson Hall is now offering ELRO® stationary and mobile peristaltic pumps through its innovative £99 for 99 scrappage scheme.

Launched at the start of 2018 to celebrate the company’s 99th year in business, the scrappage scheme allows end users to replace older pumps with more energy efficient solutions and support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in the process.

Due to customer demand, ELRO® stationary and mobile peristaltic pumps have now been made available through the scheme, alongside the range of DEPA® Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps already offered. The £99 for 99 scrappage scheme runs until December 31, 2018.

Under Tomlinson Hall’s ‘£99 for 99’ initiative, the firm is giving £99 to any company which replaces any old pump on their UK premises with a new DEPA® AODD or ELRO®  pump, which will be supplied by Tomlinson Hall. The firm will safely dispose of the old pump and the scrap value of each pump replaced will be donated to the RNLI.

Pump users can either take their scrap pumps to Tomlinson Hall’s premises for disposal or Tomlinson Hall’s specialist engineering team will de-install the pumps on the customer’s site.

The RNLI, which has lifeboat stations in Redcar and Hartlepool, close to Tomlinson Hall’s Teesside headquarters, will benefit from every pump scrapped as part of the scheme.

Founded in 1919, Tomlinson Hall is a global distributor for many leading pump brands and manufactures its own innovative liquid ring vacuum pump, Liquivac. The company offers full-service expertise in pump supply, installation, surveying, servicing and repairs.

The ELRO® range of pumps are designed and manufactured by CRANE, for which Tomlinson Hall is the sole UK distributor. A major presence in the positive displacement pump market, they are renowned for their ability to operate in demanding conditions and for handling challenging pumping operations.

ELRO® pumps available under the scrappage scheme include: the IP series of stationary peristaltic pumps, which are designed to enable the gentle transport of liquid or viscous media and are also capable of handling abrasive, shear-sensitive products with long fibres and solids; the XP series of stationary peristaltic pumps, which provide a high pumping capacity at low rotary speed and enable transfer of fluids with high solids content; and ATEX-compliant mobile peristaltic pumps such as the ELRO® GP20.10 EX and M300 models.

Colin Simpson, Business Development Director of Tomlinson Hall, said: “By offering ELRO® stationary and mobile peristaltic pumps through our £99 for 99 scrappage scheme in addition to DEPA® AODD pumps, we can help even more businesses to replace older, potentially inefficient pumps with state-of-the-art pump technology – and make a positive impact on their running costs and carbon footprint.

“Tomlinson Hall has been a proud distributor of ELRO® pumps for many years and have seen the difference they can make to pumping operations across sectors including chemical processing, construction, utilities and energy. We’re therefore delighted to have the opportunity to make them available through the scrappage scheme – and to be assisting end users in de-installing and safely disposing of their old pumps, a process which can often pose a significant challenge.

“We’re also very proud to be supporting the RNLI through the scheme. The fact that the lifeboat crews aided an average of 22 people a day last year, and launched 8,436 times around our coastlines, shows just how important the RNLI’s work is in saving lives and keeping the public safe.”

A joint founding member of the Pump Distributors Association and a member of The British Pump Manufacturers Association, Tomlinson Hall works across the UK and in overseas markets including Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia.

Tomlinson Hall is the current holder of the North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) ‘Engineering Firm of the Year’ award, and was named NEPIC SME of the Year in 2017 and 2015. The firm has also been named UK Pump Distributor of the Year in the Pump Industry Awards in 2009/10, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017, and also won the Small Business of the Year award in 2015’s North East Business Awards.
