14 new starters at leading Northern law firm Ward Hadaway

Leading Northern law firm Ward Hadaway has announced the addition of 14 new team members to its Newcastle office.

The team expansion, which sees the group including two partners, a managing associate, two associates, three solicitors as well as five paralegals and a conveyancer join, highlights the firm’s continued growth and commitment to client excellence.

Tim Dennis joins as a partner in commercial litigation and Kelly Pearson has been appointed as a partner in the social housing team. Both bring a wealth of skills and experience to their respective fields. These key additions signal Ward Hadaway’s ongoing investment in leadership and depth within its practice areas, ensuring the full-service firm remains at the forefront of legal services provision across Northern England.

The business also welcomes Matthew Sigsworth as a managing associate in commercial litigation and Marie-Louise O’Hanrahan as an associate in the social housing team, alongside Patrick Saunders, an associate in the public sector department.

Martin Hulls, managing partner at Ward Hadaway, said: “We’re delighted to welcome our new colleagues to the Newcastle office. This expansion is a testament to our firm’s enduring ambition. With these appointments, we add more breadth and depth of experience across our teams to ensure we’re well-equipped to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our clients, helping them succeed in today’s world. It’s a significant step forward in our journey, reinforcing our position as a leader in our field and a trusted partner to individuals, organisations and businesses across the North of England and beyond.”

The other new starters take up positions within its commercial litigation, real estate, construction, debt recovery, social housing and public sector departments.

The appointments follow positive news about Ward Hadaway’s last financial year where it reported a continued increase in turnover which now exceeds £45 million. The organisation marked another year of robust financial performance, demonstrating resilience and growth despite market challenges and are on track for further growth in the current financial year.

Partner Tim Dennis said: “I’m genuinely excited to be part of a firm that not only values excellence in legal practice but also prioritises ambition, transparency and respect in every aspect of its operations. The firm’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative environment resonates strongly with my professional values and aspirations. I look forward to contributing to the commercial litigation team and to the wider firm as a whole, utilising my experience to navigate complex legal challenges and driving success for our clients.”

Partner Kelly Pearson added: “Joining Ward Hadaway is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the affordable housing sector. I’m pleased to be part of a team that not only values professional growth but also invests in understanding and meeting the unique needs of our communities.”
