November Monthly Meeting and Manufex

On Wednesday 19th November the AMF team was split; one of our Jacks manning a stall at Manufex in Kingston Park, the other setting up the November Monthly Meeting.

Between 9am and 4pm AMF"s admin apprentice Jack Rae was at Manufex North representing the forum with help from Gordon Wallis of Zenith People. Over the course of the day they both managed to promote their companies to a wide range of interested parties, as well as seeing some familiar faces from some of our members, for example Square One Utilities and Tait Walker who both had booths set up at Manufex as well.

Our Monthly meeting, which also occured that day, was chaired by Alan Metcalfe of Zenith as Ian Fawdon was unavailable with Jack Hanwell at hand to ensure everything went without a hitch. The subject of that forum"s presentations were Process and Productivity Improvement.

After our regular Manufacturing updates and information about our survey the first guest was Paul Molloy of Fluere who spoke about Demystifying Lean and Process Transformation.

Following that Giles Johnston from Smartspeed Consulting gave a presentation on Making MRP Work.

Finally, to round off the event, Jamie Gamble from Ward Hadaway went into more detail about the recent EAT ruling on Holiday Pay Calculations, which was covered in the previous month"s HR Forum.
