Arthur has firsthand experience of the manufacturing sector and is skilled in relationship management having worked for leading North East organisations including Nissan, Arriva Ford, The Mussel Club and the North East Chamber of Commerce.
Arthur works with the board and strategic partners to support the needs of AMF members and further grow the forum.
Ian spent 27 years working in manufacturing - most recently as Director of Learning at Essentra PLC. During his last 5 years at Essentra he introduced the principles of lean manufacturing in factories in Asia, the US and Europe. He is now employed on a consultancy basis by South Tyneside College to implement those lean manufacturing tools to drive efficiency improvements within the FE sector.
Alan is Commercial Director for recruitment agency Zenith People and works with many of the North East's leading manufacturing companies, carrying out large recruitment drives as well as advising on HR, skills and training issues common to a lot of manufacturing businesses.
Alan supports members with their recruitment needs, particularly apprentice recruitment working with partners such as South Tyneside College and South Tyneside Council.
Samantha Davidson is Founder and Managing Director of Horizonworks, a full-service business to business strategic marketing agency that specialises in working with businesses from the manufacturing and engineering, healthcare and life sciences, technology and professional services sectors.
Over the past 18 years, Samantha has managed and delivered high profile marketing and PR campaigns for a diverse range of businesses regionally, nationally and internationally. Utilising her experience and industry knowledge Samantha also hosts the AMF’s quarterly Marketing Club.
Jamie Gamble, Partner at law firm Ward Hadaway, specialises in employment law and provides advice to a wide range of clients, including many involved within the manufacturing industry. His experience includes acting for a major car manufacturer on the outsourcing of logistics and call centre operations and acting for a European manufacturer on the restructure of its UK senior management team followings its purchase of the UK company.
Jamie hosts several seminars on employment, HR and staffing issues in the sector for AMF members.
Since joining South Tyneside College, experienced educationalist Alison has been pivotal in the expansion and refinement of the vocational curriculum.
As the Principal of the Professional and Vocational College, Alison has improved access to courses and been pivotal in establishing the Career College North East which gives training to 14 to 19-year olds in advanced manufacturing, engineering and computer science.
John is an economic development specialist with over 20 years’ experience supporting and developing businesses in the North East.
John is currently Corporate Lead for Business, Employment & Skills at South Tyneside Council, and is working on the development of the International Advanced Manufacturing Park that will lead to the creation of 5,200 jobs located on a 140ha employment site.
Eddie is Managing Director and Founder of Cell Pack Solutions Ltd, a specialist in the design and manufacture of custom battery packs.
After obtaining an HND in Electrical Engineering at Manchester Polytechnic, Eddie spent 12 years working in a number of technical selling roles within the battery industry before he launched his own company.
Peter is Director at Phoenix Steel in which he implements modern manufacturing techniques to help expand the business.
Peter has previously served a craft apprenticeship in Gateshead manufacturing power generation systems for the nuclear power industry, as well as holding various manufacturing roles, and working at Nissan in a QA role for almost 20 years.
Brian is the Business Unit Manager for Marshalls Street Furniture, which designs, manufactures and installs landscape protection systems. Brian is a member of the NEBOSH council, after receiving the NEBOSH ‘Workplace Safety’ and ‘Overall Best Candidate’ award.
Brian is motivated by improving people and processes and has experience in Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental systems. Additionally, he has significant experience in process engineering after starting his career as an apprentice at Swan Hunters.
